About this speaker
Dr. Ayalew has 34 years of professional experience in mycotoxicology, and more broadly food safety and sanitary and phytosanitary matters. For the past 9 years, he has led PACA’s strategy, regional and country programs as well as its continental and global advocacy and technical work. He has played key role in coordinating the development, implementation and validation of the Africa Food Safety Index which is being tracked by 55 African Union Member States. Dr. Ayalew is currently serving as member of the WHO Technical Advisory Group on Food Safety: Safer Food for Better Health.
