About this speaker

Dr Lourdes Martinez Romero is a senior advisor in the USAID Bureau for Resilience and Food Security, Food Safety Division. She specializes in agricultural markets and food system development to advance inclusive and sustainable food security. She works with partners to develop innovative approaches to increase low-income consumers access to safe, nutritious diets, and to create incentives for micro, small and medium enterprises to provide quality products in traditional markets. She has a Phd in Community, Agriculture and Natural Resource Studies, and MS in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University.
